slings dont lay eggs some mix up there. As for the chile rose it is this time of year that chilean species lay egg sacs so it could have been mated before you received. Phantom egg sacs do exist I would have left it with the female if it is the first egg sac you have had. Now that it is removed artificial incubate it with the numerous methods. Give a couple of weeks and use a very fine pair of nail scissors and make an inch incision to see if there are eggs and to check that they are healthy. As far as if/when they hatch keep them in for a week or 2 the stronger larger ones will eat the weak ones its nature unavoidable and the weak would not survive this way you will have all healthy ones left and yes it will require a few hundred film pots and plastic vials
