I dont recommend anyone does hold them, its their own responsibility
Though personally, on occasion i do and will comfortably with 90% of my different species...
I WILL not hold my centipedes though, lmao

although i do not recommend handling, and do not intend to encourage anybody, i think that its up to you if handle or not
if you feel confident enough and you want to do this, go for it

i would like add my two pennies

i had on my hands lots of different species, including some considered as hot venom ones [Asians and Africans], and there was number of ocassions that i was sweating, luckily never had any accident and nothing happened to animals nor to me

the most remarkable was accidental run over me of Pterinochilus murinus 'Usumbara', as it went on my palm while maintaining in its enclosure and run through my arm, over neck and stopped somewhere on my back!!
i managed to take it off before any harm to me and to animal
oh boy, i was sweating!!
since that time i always had two mirrors ready in my spider room when handling speedy or 'hot' species, just to see where it can be on my back

said this, i want to remind you, that handling Tarantulas cause more hazard situation for them than for handler, especially when no experience and calm are on the side of handler

another thing came to my mind is to be very careful with terrestial T's, be sure you don't rise them to high above any surface to minimize any injures in case of falling oof hand or just jumping, as opposed to arboreals, they have usually big abdomen and i heard of number situations when one side got frightned [usually handler] and animal injured abdomed after falling down from 1.5 meter height

be careful when handling fast or more deffensive species, start with calm ones, and the ones who you know and can predict their behaviour
but again, they can have their moods as well
and the most unpredictable species in my experience is G. rosea, in my experience lot of specimens in this species are shizophrenic, once calm and slow, another day very deffensive, but again it's only my observation...

i had once Poecilotheria ornata which i was feeding with my hand! that's it, it was gently taking crickets and cockroaches off my fingers!
and even i was handling several different Pokes, this Lady was very special
