Nhandu coloratovillosus - about 7-8 inch at the minute. And yes, he is eating a fluff on the last pic.

I've got another T.blondi whose last exuvium was 7.5" legspan, and has been putting on about an inch with each moult, so is now about 8.5", and this spider is slightly larger than that one, so yes I think it is about 9". You can't really judge the size from a couple of pics.

What makes you say it's apophysis? I bought her from the BTS show as T.blondi. Must admit though I'm no expert in telling the two apart.

Here's a couple more pics of her:

The dark, egg-shaped patch on it's abdonm is a pretty good way to tell a blondi apart from an apophysis. Blondi's don't have that patch, where as the apopysis does. So I'm guessing your's is an apopysis.

Well, i was judging from only one of your pics, upon seeing the other im now saying im unsure, it looks much like an apohysis, the length of the setae, the fact they are scraggly, The dark urticatiing patch, and the shabbiness of the carapece, yert the slit setellae is telling me blondi, and thats a pretty definitive ID characteristic
If you wat, post some pics of the spermethecae, or send me an exuvium and id be happy to id it for you
I went by the dark slit settelae, T blondi have mucher more pink colouration compared to an apophysis brown. The abdominal urticating patch is a useful method of ID, but only as a secondary identification method as it doesnt always hold true between these species.
I explained that my thoughts where based on the slender appeareance of your specimens legs. Generally by the time a Theraphosa matures past approx 8inch, the legs look much stockier than previous, and in my experience with Theraphosas, the legs of your specimen look like those of a 6inch, no worries though if you say its 9 then it must be 9.
Again, im not disbeleiving you, another reason is that my big female looks noticeably bigger, yet its only about 9 too. As i said, its only my observation though
