What size are the ones you got? It's too early to tell I got some A.iredalei and a few days later one died for no apparent reason, give them a few days and see.
I don't spray mine everyday how dry the substrate is a good indication as different substrate. dry out quicker than others, I mist mine in the evening but it's up to yourself I clean mine of old food remains regularly so substrate last quite a bit especially when they're young. You can handle them any time just when smaller need to be more careful as shells developing, Don't forget to give then cuttle bone, mine do will at room temperature

Thankyou. Mine are probably about a cm long (shell length)
Im not sure what the substrate is...its really black stuff with the shiny white bits in? How do you pick them up when theyre little? I can see their shells are fragile as they are see-through in some places. I think they are only about 4weeks old. So prob wont try just yet. They grow quick anyway so wont be long. I know how you pick bigger ones up and where not to hold them etc and that my hands must be clean but wet. Maybe just see if they will crawl onto me and off again? Cant be too slimy when babies.

However when kept together for about a year or so, even if seperated afterwards, they can still produce fertile eggs on their own without need for a partner.

I recently got given 50 of the damn things. their appetite and rate of growth came as a complete shock! i am however finding them quite interesting, plus the added bonus that the substrate is RAMMED with tropical springtails.... so the dartfrogs are happy too!

They will be able to breed from about 2 1/2 ins (sorry i work in old money). They are haemaphrodite so do need a mate but any two of similiar size can mate. Best thing to do is just freeze the eggs you dont need. two snails dont stay as two snails otherwise. They may be on the lid because it is more humid up higher. If you ever need to increase their humidity just put kling film over one half of the pen pal lid. If you do accidentally breed some find a freind with a blue tongue skink! they will love them.
