Default What Tank?

I've decided to go ahead and get my girlfriend her first T (and hopefully last) so am after some ideas as to what is a decent tank to get.

Im used to reptiles and thats easy...2,3 or 4 foot wooden viv is all ive ever needed to know.

Been looking about for some tanks and they range from all glass fish tanks, all plastic fish/reptile tanks and those exo terra square(ish) tanks with the doors on the front!!

I do have a small plastic tank which i know ive seen in pet shops for both reptiles/spiders/amphibians etc but as said, it is only small (probably the size of an A4 piece of paper) and was used to house a very small frog a few years ago!!

Will this be ok for a juvi T or should i go get something a little bigger/more suitable??

By the way, tight lid is high priority here

Most fully grown adult T's wont need anything bigger than a 30x30x30, some of the massively larger species might but then your not going to be getting one of those for a starter sp. are you. I have an exo terra 45x45x45 and it is HUGE (i keep scorpions though, i have the extra height for substrate and a waterfall). If im wrong though anyone please correct me. Good luck on your first T though

Edit: as for the tight lid thing, the new exo terra's with the doors on the front are pretty much escape proof, they have 4 clips holding the roof on (VERY secure, i have trouble getting mine off lol) and the front doors are padlockable if you need to do that as well (otherwise there is a deadlock clip that keeps them closed)

Cant see it being bad for a jouvi T to be honest but like i said i keep scorpions. That would work for a scorpion but then the dont need to climb, in fact they barely need any vertical space at all lol

With the exo terras the padlock has to be a one with a wire that fits through the two holes on the doors and it locks them that way. check it out on their site. Handy if your afraid you have a hudini on your hands lol

It would help if we knew what T you're getting for her. Some T's stay pretty small, but you also get T's that will need a 2ft viv as adults.

Sorry, completely forgot to mention that bit

Im going for one of Athravens Mexican Red Rumps hes got for sale in the classifieds, they are only small at the moment so think the tank should be fine.

I will be getting a bigger tank at a later date, probably one of the exo terra ones (complete with padlock )
