Question Worried my T might fall

My T sometimes likes to climb upsidedown on the underside of the tank lid. There is a 5-6 inch fall to the substrate and I'm worried she might fall. Is it very likely she might fall and if she did could it be fatal? I've heard that any fall over 2 inches could be but it is over soft subrate. I obviously can't stop her doing it!

Thanks

A fall of 6 inches can be fatal to a spider.

cant you add more substrate to decrease the height of the fall?

They will probably be fine...what species is it?

I have had spiders jump and fall over 6 feet without damage, simalarly i have had one fall 3 feet and die.

Depends on the circumstance and luck really.

But 6 inches onto soil/vermiculite should be ok. If tis bark or chip id be a little more concerned.

Just dont knock the tub or interefere while shes upside down.

He/she is a Chilean Rose. The substrate is Eco-Earth so is soft.
My sisters Chilean Rose's tank fell about 6-7ft off a shelf and her T fell out and she's fine. She flicked some hairs at my sisters cat who was right by where she fell though

But is the substate wet or dry? A chili will climb if the ground is wet as they like it bone dry. I have quite a few chili's and they havew only climbed that high when the substrate has been wet. A fall from that hight on any surface can be fatal; it's not if; it's more of when will it be fatal IMO.

Substrate isn't particularly wet. Should it be for a Chilean Rose? I thought it was supposed to be quite dry.

Chilean rose T's dont like wet substrate, so i think Incubuss wanted to find out if this is why she is climbing the walls of the tank!
I had a chilean rose who frequently sat upside down on the roof of her tank with no problems at all!
