How long was the cricket in the tub before the T ate it? Always remove uneaten food after 24hrs. There is a chance that it had a nibble on the T's leg. Also, if your sling is on the side of the tub a lot then maybe the substrate is too wet? The leg will grow back, and with it still being a sling you will prob not even notice it after another 2 or 3 moults.

so it wont lose another leg?
I had a look 24hours or less after the cricket was in, and couldnt see it anywhere. The substrate was sprayed slightly the other day just for some moisture, but its not anywhere near damp. Hes always been up on the side. He does it alot also when hes on the ground and I pick his tub up. He runs up onto the side nearest me and up to the lid. What else could have caused this? Theres no mould in there or anything like that and he seemed so strong after his molt and was using it ok. Maybe just a weak leg during molting and it just didnt come right off?

He shouldn't lose another leg, he should be ok now. Is there enough ventilation in the tub? Is the tub too big? These could cause it to climb higher. As slings most T's act in a different way to adults, so he maybe just one that likes to climb. Out of the half dozen or so B. smithi slings in collection only one of them climbs all the time, and that the bigger of them (about 3cm ish).

ah hes only about a cm, maybe smaller. Hes an active little thing tho. The tub isnt too big, and there are plenty of airholes.
