Interesting to see your accounts on communal set-ups.

Got any advice in general?

I am trying my luck at a communal vinegaroon set-up. They seem to be ok just now, theres not really a vast amount of info on them however, so its all a bit trial and error for me. Im basically trying to keep them well fed and as unstressed as possible. I'll have to learn the signs of a moult so I can seperate them...hilariously, the few care sheets I did find suggested they are very aggressive and skittish - rather different from my experience.

So far I have 2 large juveniles (3cm). I was quite worried about the comment about tank size - I have them in a large viv to allow them roaming space. I cant tell for sure if they "get on" or just avoid each other in chance encounters. I have some hope that since they are sharing the same hide they are ok in each others company.

I guess my only guide is some new work published on amblypygids that display sociality. I've yet to see if any scientific literature has been published on Pokies and social attitudes - I presume so as its well known in the hobby.

Im not sure to be honest, I have kept Pink toes together always ..... Someone suggested Pokies to me and I had this big tank made by Custom Aquaria and that was it, they seem very happy together, not like my pink toes, who seem to touch each other and run , very fast round and round.

These Pokies walk over each other and they dont even flinch.

This suggests to me that they are comfortable with each other.

Hmmmn. Thanks - My whip scorpions tend to do varied actions: sometimes they are content to crawl all over each other, and others they will retreat.

Atm, I think both are sharing the same hide, so i'm optomistic that they will co-habit well.
