Really? I keep my curlyhair at around 80% humidity, and never had much issue with plants. I have cultured plants in terrariums before however. Its all about getting the balance of light, humidity and water correct -its a little more work, but I think its well worth it.

Plants arent really such an issue with inverts such as T's as they wont eat them. However, stay away from sharp spiney plants or cactuses (obvious reasons). You're best to go with soft foliage plants that can deal with a tarantula walking over them.

I find small ferns and shade tolerant plants the most useful as you dont need such excessive lighting. I have cultured orchids and small carnivorous plants inside vivs aswell. The carnivorous plants would have worked well, but in typical fashion Charlotte chose that exact spot to put webbing down, and smothered the tiny leaves. I will try again some day...

I have planted mine with a few varieties of small fern and an orchid just now. I light the enclosure with a small 15w sun-glo bulb mounted at the top - that way, most of the light is intercepted by the plants and Charlotte gets to live in semi-shade. She doesnt seem to bothered by light anyway - I used to give a variety of hides, and she would often come out and sit on a peice of cork bark because it was right over the heat mat.

it's for two T's, red knee and a chilean, ones mine but i now have to look after my dads
and they don't have much light either so i'll ditch the real plant idea.
i thought about half a plant pot but if he's to lazy to use his half cocanut i don't think he'd use a half plantpot. I dunno, thanks for the response anyways, i'll send pics when i have decided
xx

Try using "Oasis" from a florists, not expensive and you can carve your own burrow into it easily.

I really like using bog wood (most people would call it driftwood) however its pretty expensive to buy but it looks great especially if you throw some silk plants in as a back drop. bog wood has lots of natural curves and odd shapes that they can either craw right under or dig under if they need too.
also happens to be very mold resistant a problem i seem to be having trouble with atm
also sphagnum moss helps make the enclosure look more natural

Always looking for more better thing's for her as the fake plants she had she did not like so looking for live plants that is ideal for her species and trying to find the perfect background proberly the foam type.

But then again be recomended using syrofoam and tilegrout but not 100% positive is Tarantula friendly.

So i'm always looking for bigger /better things for my Anstice.

my daughter puts half a plant pot in then covers it over with substrate so it looks like a dirt mound with a hole in it. Her t's love it .

I put a toilet roll tube with a piece of cork bark leaning on so they have somewhere to climb up and also crawl through the toilet roll tube. My two T's love the tube - they sit in there happily most days! They also have a hide with a plastic plant covering it to make it more hidden.

Cheap and cheerful but looks great!

For my Curly I've got 2 overlapping pieces of bogwood and a silk plant that has unintentionally formed a makeshift burrow.

She's chosen that over the reptile cave I gave her.
