How do u protect your turtles from birds and other creatures ?

I don't. They're big enough that birds aren't a problem, and other animals can't really get to them as they bask on an island in the middle of the pond.

Do u need to have any sort of filteration in the pond or just plants ?

They're mine, the pond is in my garden. These species probably wouldn't survive long in the wild in the UK as they come from too far south.

There's a submerged pump with a foam pre-filter, it pumps water into a 5 gallon filter filled with Alfagrog, then a 40 gallon reedbed filter, then back into the pond.
