Default Today in the pond

First outdoor pic of the year, you can see 5 turts basking, and if you look closely there's another one in the water on the far left, but there's one more in there somewhere!

looks nice,i can remember when you done the tub basking island it also doubles as a a pump housing as well doesnt it.

I abandoned the tub filter idea as it didn't work too well, the pump packed in and was too inaccessible, there's a normal pond filter for the moment but I'm planning a large reedbed filter alongside the pond, it worked really well in my fish pond last summer.

Here's a couple more pics from today, firstly all seven of them basking...



And Temple my Red Belly wearing the latest fashion, apparently this season's colour is green...

Unfortunately no, these are species from too far south to hibernate through a British winter, they stay out until around the end of September, maybe a bit later if it's still warm, then they come indoors.
