haha yeah the tetra is still there, theres a few other fish that are missing in action though

Yup they do, and a 7x2x3wide i would say to be fair, i was told a heated pond would be best

yeah they get pretty big, im going for the heated pond when he's adult size although they grow really slowly so that wont be for a long while yet, 20 years or more
to be honest im not sure a 7x2x3 would even be big enough as they can reach 31 inches and that just the carapace (shell) length, add a tail and a head and your gonna need more than 3 foot wide, they can also reach a weight of over 200 lbs (14 stone) so ive got my work cut out for me in the future

i dunno about biting a leg off but i definatly think it would break the bone, depending on the source they are said to have the strongest bite pressure of all animals although some sources say the hyena, they definatly beat the great white shark though, anyway here a pic to give an idea





still they aint anymore dangerous than most large reptiles and i would argue less dangerous than burms and retics, as long as your careful and know what your doing there's no need to worry about that bite

I had one that was 110lb and that was a handfull when you got him out,i dont think youl be around to see it get this kind of size the one i had i got from my friend john richards at loggerhead turtle farm ,he said was around 80yrs old.Good luck these really are fantastic animals that need all our help to keep them around.Paul.
