Nothing against water really, but on the other hand...if there are scary creatures like your Snapping Turtle underneath the surface, yeah i would have a problem with it. I saw what one did to the broom handle in your pic's and that was enough for me...I like my hands and feet just how they are...intact. Just have to remember the next time I am in Chester-Le-Street to keep me hands in me pocket's just incase there are any loose Snappin Turtle's about . Seriously as nice as they are to look at in your pic's...thats about as near as i would like to be.
