ive read there hard to sex so i doubt theres any idea from this?

its a central american wood turtle! (it would be a bit silly not knowing what it was lol!)

now I don't know much about turtles..but if they're anything like tortoises you tell their sex from their tail (which you cant see from their plastron shots)

or a side on plastron shot.. so you can see if there is a concave bit on the plastron.

like I say though, i'm really not sure with turtles

Dont know about all species of turtle, but generally females tend to be larger and males have longer claws.

Yeah but if you get a general idea of the species overall size SCL and measure yours it should give an indication - providing you know its age.
I also know with the lads when they are in water sometimes the penis is easily visible and often causes inexperienced owners to think something is seriously wrong - I dont know how much water those guys require, cause for example Box Turtles dont have a lot, whereas what i have do.

Do you know a lot about them??
