Everyone is giving you good advice. But just to make things as clear as possible: You need a thermostat (which you already have) with the probe placed on the surface of the substrate over the heatmat. You also need a decent (digital) thermometer, also with the probe placed on the substrate over the heatmat. You then adjust the thermostat until your thermometer tells you that the temperature of the substrate is 90-94F (30-33C). The ambient air temperature in the viv can be room temperature. Heatmats don't heat the air in the viv. If you have placed your thermometer on the viv wall it will be reading low. The place for the thermometer with Leos is on the substrate at the warm side of the viv.
