Surrey Reptile and Amphibian Society was formed fairly recently in December 2012. The group was formed by a range of like minded individuals that each had a passion for reptiles and amphibians. Over the past few months SRAS has grown so much and the name is really getting out there.
SRAS is a non profit organisation, not a charity like some people mistake.
The Society is run by a committee of non paid personnel who each take on different role in addition to there normal full time jobs.
In the early days SRAS was sustained by monies coming in from the chairmens personal finances, today sras is largely sustained with income from annual membership fees and donations. SRAS is not a business, therefore, after costs have been extracted, all of the monies goes straight back into the society into a treasuries fund/sinking fund. Monies never goes to a proprietor nor as salaries.
The Society meets once a month at what is commonly known as
The Parrot Inn
