Default MVB D3 lamp.....which T5 lamp?

Hello,

I'm after some advice on my lamp setup. My viv measures internally 120cm long, 42cm high, 33.5cm deep (4ft enclosure)

Its a wood enclosure with glass front doors & vents on the back wall, current UV & heat source is an Arcadia 100w MVB on a cut out at one end. I'll be installing an additional Aracadia 55w lamp & thermostat next to the MVB to regulate temps.

Question I have it should I also install a T5 next to the MVB for additional UV?
If so which lamp? Would 14% be too strong for my viv?

Yes, I would use a 12% D3+ 39w T5 and reflector set into the hot end. Use rock under the heat source to create a basking zone so that there is 12-15" between the lamp and the dragons head when seated at the top of the basking stack.

Thanks John.

So 39w is 34" long + fittings, with my MVB position it would need to go in front or behind to fit. This would also overlap UV between the two bulbs.

Am I better off with a shorter bulb positioned next to the MVB? Also should UV cover extend to then end of the cool side?

You can fit the lamp and reflector to the roof behind the front plate above the door.

Yes, fit it hard into the hot end so that it starts to create shade towards the cool end,. This will then allow good self-regulation
