Default Jungle Dawn Dimmable?

Hi,

I'm interested in JD for a bioactive viv but if possible I would like to ramp up / down the brightness to mimic sunrise / sunset (possibly in conjunction with blue and red LEDs controlled separately).

If it possible to anything other than on/off with the JDs? If so is there an LED timer or stat that anyone can recommend please?

OK, many thanks for the info

Another quick question while I have you, I'm building a 6x3x3 Ackie viv and looking to use Dragon Lamp, Deep Heat and Jungle Dawn. With this combination am I getting the full spectrum for the herp or do i need to add a Halogen?

Sounds like a nice viv. Lucky little chap!

Yes, this would provide the essential energy that they need at the basking point. However, its a big space and a 50w lamp would struggle to heat the air to cause a high enough thermal gradient on its own. I would add in a 100w Halogen heat spot next to the DHP. In this way they form an array where the DHP and Halogen work together to fill the terrestrial spectrum but also the Halogen heat the air.

It depends on which temp you require, but in most cases. However, DHP is a perfect partner for Halogen, where halogen create a nice wide and bright basking area that will also heat the air quickly.
