Default Look Ma! No Fangs!

Well scratch off one reptile dealer who thinks they know what they are doing...My Bibron's Mole Vipers turned out to be a harmless mimic's. I think : Amblyodipsas purpurescens.
One was found dead, so I wanted to photograph the venom apparatus because it's unusual. I looked and looked, sure I was missing something. I got out my microscope and probed around, nada fang to be found.

I next tried the "Acid Test". If I was wrong, I was going to be sorry.

Well it scared the crap out of me when it did the head jerk and rubbed the side of it's head HARD against my hand. I was right..one of the best mimics I've seen, it has those Bibron's moves down perfectly. It calmed down when it figured out it wasn't fooling me. Nice little critter!

In the next video "September Mixed Bag of Snake" Mr. Sniffles make a appearence but no Gabby in this one. I will upload it on Wednesday morning so my UK mates can watch it in the evening. Lots of action and slow motion shots in this one.

I have a few Gabby clips that need to be edited into some coherient form before I put it into the schedule.

Cheers!

Al
