Default General Electric (UK)

Long story short I'm getting quite scared...

Currently I have 15 x habitat related plugs scattered around 5 x mid 1980's wall sockets via an evolved network of extention leads on extention leads feeding miryad heat mats / lights, filters and misters.

In the interests of habitat improvements, I need to add at least 5 more plugs.

Where on earth do I go to start finding safer alternatives to a millipede of extensions? What words do I need to know to start researching alternative power "solutions".

I rent, so rewiring the house is out of the question. How can I stop my house burning down, and continue to improve my habitats? (I blame 1980's TV and primary school curriculum for making me scared of electricity).

First off, do you have the landlord's consent for keeping animals?

Add up, if you can ie if its on the item/box etc, the wattage of the items being used, and then come back with the total.

Aah permissions. Yes, I have specific permissions for a cat and large Dog. And I'm known by the agent to keep "enclosed animals". I've never received poor feedback - 20 years renting, 10 properties. Valid issue to highlight I agree.

"Semi hoarders Law", I've recently cleared out my empty boxes in a spring clean.

To give an idea though (anything in brackets are planned additions) wattages are based on minimum known wattage of 1 item.

1 x 22w Jungle Dawn LED (+1).
2 x 150w spot
1 x power saving variant. Wattage unknown but high / desert).
3 x 25w UV strip (+1).
Various wattage exo Terra power saving UV x 6.
Large heat mats x 4.

Timers and thermostats accordingly (usually the join between 1 extension and another).

Equipment age, late '90s to now.

Is that everything you have running? Or is that going to 1 wall socket?

That's everything animal related shared between 4 of the wall sockets and around 7 extentions.

Have TV, Booster Box, set top box, and 5 - 6 pc related plugs shared among 2 of the non timer controlled extension leads.

Upstairs and the kitchen feels quite safe - Should I be scared of the main room?
