Nice choice of corals mate. Just keep in mind that the Leather will produce toxins so you should run a reactor with carbon if you can.

Frostpaw 05-07-2012 11:40 PM

ive got the carbon going....

The leather coral.. they move about dont they? like slowly crawl round the tank?

Nah mate, the Leather at the top will just grow. Your Green Ricordeas will begin to split and move though, as they are anemones. I'd recommend adding a wee squirt of Phyto every few days to your tank to feed the corals.
Oh...and your GSP (Green Star Polyp) will GROW and GROW if happy!

Frostpaw 05-07-2012 11:53 PM

yes they get live plankton stuff every 7 days, a whole bottle!

Cool, and I don't mean to sound assuming but is this your first marine setup?
Just remember that small tanks can be quite difficult to maintain at optimum parameters. Make sure that you have very good filtration (skimmer etc) if you are feeding heavily.
If you need any help at all with anything then I would gladly give you advice. I have kept marine tanks for years, and my last tank was a 600 litre full reef. Here's a wee pic if you are interested :2thumb:

thats stunning, and yup this is my first marine, though i have years and years in trops. Im totally paranoid atm!!

Running a TMC v2Skim 80, micro skimmer. and a wee hang on the glass filter with the carbon etc in.

My only worry is that ive not had a skimmer before so i dont know if its working! Its adding the tiny bubbles and stuff to the water... but no froth as yet... but the corals only came in today.

The TMC V2 range of skimmers are notoriously difficult to work with. Some are "ok", but others simply do not do the job at all. The micro-bubbles coming from your skimmer, although not harmful, are damn ugly in the main display.
If you can, look out for a Tunze Nano 9002, they are quite pricey (even used some people ask for about £50) but they are great!
However, without any "real" livestock in the tank there will be very little nutrients to skim anyway. Your plankton will definitely build up though so try to take care of it as early as possible.
I'd recommend you do a 10%-15% water change every week too (never more than 20%).
