Hi there

I have had the same issue, can't we just be given edit privilages to do this on our own posts? It would save the admins a heap of work.

Is this not better than cluttering up the forum with either ads that are at the wrong price or dead threads as they have had to be reposted?

I've been on another forum for almost ten years with a far larger following than this one, and it's never been an issue? It's a sellers parogative to change a price and a buyers to make an offer if they think it's too high. There is no point pretending we will always agree on everything, we won't, but we can be civil about it and understand that life is not always entierly fair, but someone has to get the bargain.

It's a fair enough suggestion, but not one we plan on adding at the moment.

Only one or two people ask us to change the prices a month at the moment and we don't feel the workload is so high on that to make it necessary to change things.

Editing unfortunately does lead to problems; there are people out there who will abuse any system, we have a strict policy on things like swearing, insults/abuse - you can be guaranteed that people would use the edit system to try and get away with breaking the rules (it's okay, there are no moderators online, I'll break the rules, and edit it before someone logs on) and overall editing on request takes up the very smallest percentage of moderating duties at the moment.

Thanks for that.

Every forum is different, and there is no right or wrong way (within reason) to moderate them.

If you feel what we have is working and there is not enough demand for change, then it must be about right.
