I make several different mixes due to the fact that I keep a few different types of rodent with different dietary requirements.

I was wondering if people who mix their own food might add some of their own recipes for everyone here to have a look at!

I'll give an example of my mouse food mix;

8 parts high quality, low sugar rat food mix, low in nuts & fatty seeds
1 part high quality kitten food (tiny kibble for tiny paws!)
1 part mixed herbs & hays

My current mouse mix uses;
Rattima rat food - Great Deals on Rat Food at Zooplus: Tima Rattima Premium Muesli Rat Food
It's a good price, low in nuts and seeds, and contains shrimp as a source of protein.
Royal Canin Babycat (tiny tiny kibble) but a regular kitten food should be fine.
A mixed herb and hay selection which can be eaten and used for nesting material.

Table scraps and fresh fruits and meadow type flowers are given at intervals too!

can't give measurements but i use pets at home musseli and add extra wild bird seed for my dwarf hamsters,
and i add extra sunflower seed to it for pregnant hamsters

I think most muesli types are a great base. Then you can add whatever your pets need!
It's a great thing to have when you keep multiple pets too, you can use it as a base and add fruit to a mix for APDs for example, and instead add dried herbs for sugar intolerant species like certain hamsters and lemmings.

My rat food mix is based on something called the Shunamite diet,
It's 5 scoops of Harrison's Banana Bunny Brunch, 1 scoop Burns chicken and rice dog kibble, 1 scoop of pasta and 4 scoops of mixed cereals (cornflakes, rice krispies, porridge oats, weetabix etc) I vary the cereals each time to keep it interesting, they just have to be low in sugar. I also add rice cakes, crackers etc from time to time to keep it interesting for them.
We have 2 hamsters now too (cos I'm a sucker for a sob story!) so I'll be keeping an eye out for nice mixes for them

This is the mix I use for my multimammate mice:

Baileys stud mix horse food (high in oats)
Mixed seeds
Cornflakes
Wagg dog food
Pasta
various bits and bobs from around the house...
