Default Blue Tongued Skink Enclosure

Here is my recently upgraded Irian Jaya BTS enclosure. It is a 72"x18"x"24" viv with a hide at each end and various opportunities to bask. I have a ceramic at one end with an Arcadia 39w luminaire with a 6% bulb and another 24w luminaire with an Arcadia freshwater pro bulb for general sunlight. He can normally be seen each morning spending some time sitting under the ceramic or basking on his rock under the light bulbs. I have found that his appetite has increased and he appears to be thriving on this setup. I must thank Arcadia John for his advice on the lighting configuration.

Thanks for all your kind words. I recently downsized my collection so that I could improve the enclosures of the collection I've chosen to keep. The vivs are made by ND Aquatics and I really rate them highly.

It's zoo med forest floor cypress mulch. You can get it from swell. It's quite expensive compared to the 15 quid i pay for 70l of orchid bark but he seems to prefer it. I also use timothy hay in his hides.
