Default Heat mat confusion!!!

Sorry if this has been asked millions of times but I couldn't find the answer! I have a Prorep heat mat which I'm sticking on the outside of a glass praying mantis terrarium. Which side goes against the glass - the copper strips or the other side? Having the copper strips against the glass means the bumpy side of the terminal block is also against the glass which makes it stick out at the end so I wasn't sure which is right...

Thank you!!!

The copper strips face out from the tank, they do not touch the glass.
