Diy viv

I was wondering if anyone can help I wanted to build a cost effective viv. My question is can you use kitchen cabinet from B&Q and wickes would it work for a reptile viv thanks

You certainly could. Would only really be worth it if you already had or have access to a kitchen cabinet for free/cheap. I made my own viv but designed it from scratch and got the wood cut at a local timber merchant. Was really easy to do and would have been really cheap if I had used something other than marine ply sealed with epoxy resin. Was still much less than a commercially available viv and is totally indestructible 🙂

I used "Axson Epolam 2017 General Purpose Epoxy Resin System - Lloyds Approved" no idea if it is the best though. I mixed it with some “Fillite Filler Powder” and poured myself a waterproof floor. Came out really good and was easy to do.

The picture shows a little test square of the ply I used with poured epoxy floor. It was total overkill for a viv but I already had the stuff sitting about. It was leftover from making an homemade epoxy granite CNC machine.

You could in theory make a plywood aquarium with the stuff. 🙂
