Default Man cave/python shed build

I’m posting this as an I going project. It will amuse me to watch it develop hopefully will interest others. Built this as semi subterranean play house for kids. It was built entirely out of old double glazing and lots of i insulation boards/spray foam. It will contain one 1450 long 1200 high 850 deep and one 1200x1200x650 vivs. These will house my diamond pythons. Eventually I will fit two 1200x600x600 to house my two rainbow boas. I have butchered an old fridge and spray foamed plastic drawers in. These will be hides or nest boxes that the snakes can access from top and can be slid out by me. Next pic is the windows that will form the viv front and partition. The piece of glass that forms the partition will be removable so out of breeding or brumation season I can give them a big L shaped enclosure. Pretty it ain’t. But hopefully it will be. 🤞🐍

Added a bit of background Shelves etc. Took pics so I can remember branch placement for after removing for Rock work. Thought I may as well post. Also removed windows for access. The white areas and Shelves will be covered in fake rock. Need to work out how to make pic 2 into pic3 🤔

Thanks. Amazing would be good if I can beat mediocre I’ll be happy. I won’t put the snakes in till late spring or early summer so no rush. I’d like to get it ticking over before then though. Going to plant “weeds” in pipes that run into the soil so they grow but viv remains dry. buddleja sedge grass and ivy. All grow in walls and pavements With very little nourishment and huge tolerance for extreme temps and winters. Ahs Ceramic units going under main shelves along with uvb tubes To heat to 80 in summer Months 10-13 hours depending on season. Then a fan and strong led on planted side with come on simultaneously with a uva basking bulb near 90 on dimmer with stat sensor on top if high shelf. This will be roughly 6 hours summer 2 hours winter. There will be no viv heat at night I will keep shed at 50 at night in winter more like 65+ Rest of year. The foam hides will provide shelter from any periods where the ambient temp along with lights are very warm. This will never approach Sydney Australia highs. They will also give insulation in between winter basking. I’ve spent a while thinking these vivs and temperature/environmental ranges. May look over the top but I’ve wanted these for donkeys years and think the effort and expense will ultimately be with it. 🐍💸👍

Bit of pvc lining some of upper level and ceilings to lighten her up a little. Fitted first of the led strips. Mostly so I can work as she’d is pitch black from just after 4pm.

Sunken water dish/ pond. Fridge underneath filled with rubble and soil the two pipes reach this layer too. I will plant ivy and common grasses in these. I can lift out the inner dish and flood the one fitted below to clean and flood the soil with water. The soil layer will be entirely separate to the viv so plants can move but environment remains dry. I’ll do something similar on bigger scale in other viv.
