Question Fitting glass in runners

Hi all we are currently building a new viv for our royal python and have all the wood put together and have fitted the runners... just need to measure for the glass now... I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips to fit/slot the glass into the runners once it comes as we had a right nightmare doing this for our last viv, took ages. Maybe should not have fitted the runners first lol but needed to put them in to get an accurate measurement for the glass.
Thanks

the glass fits in easy if you have the right measurements for the glass; although i can't give you any advice on that as i often mess it up

tack the runners in. use cardboard and cut two pieces to the right size, they are now the size of glass you need.

fit runners properly once you have your glass

that would be my method.

Make sure you've put the deep tracking at the top and the shallow at the bottom. When they are firmly in place stick a ruler in to the top tracking and measure to the bottom tracking leaving a millimeter or so clear. If you can't get a ruler in use a piece of card mark it and measure the card.

If you just tell the glazier who's supplying the glass/runners how big the gap is, they'll tell you how big the glass needs to be.... Easy peasy
