Default Arboreal/Suspended hide

Just a quick simple and cheap idea.

I was looking for a hide to have up in the plants for my cresties in the mean time as a quick solution I bought some half coconut shells ( pack of 3 from Surrey pet supplies only a couple of quid! ).

Drilled a hole in them and notched out the edge

Bought some suction hocks to stick to the glass viv and some sticky cable tie hooks for the wooden viv. Then simply hung them up.

My cresties seem to love them so may not bother with anything different now.

Cheers. Pretty basic but they seem to like it. I usually have the out side of the glass on that side covered so he feels more secure

I used to use suckers to secure pieces of cork bark as haul-outs for frogs and newts in aquatic tanks- they were secured with a long pin passed through the sucker into the bark- they stuck fine, so long as the pin was pushed in flush in the middle.

Yeah that sounds like an idea I could use to stick a water and food ledge up that I have made.

Well, it helped that the water also supported the bark- could work with multiple suckers and a fairly narrow ledge, though.

I siliconed three half coconut shells around the side of one of my vivs. They look awesome.
Jay (Spikebrit) has also got an awesome arboreal hide. A little cork bark tube suspended from the roof of a viv!
