Default IHS Local Branches - Your Society Needs You!

I have recently taken another role within the IHS committee, it is of Branch Co-ordinator. This role is to help and liaise with current branches of the Society and to also to promote the benefits of new branches for the Society.

If you are a member of the IHS and feel that a local monthly meeting would interest you and perhaps some of your reptile keeping friends (it can be a very informal affair in a local pub or the like) please contact me for further details. We have several branches that once up and running have monthly meetings with talks, quiz nights, social get togethers, day trips, BBQ's and all manner of exciting and interesting events - two branches even hold one of the IHS Doncaster Breeders Meetings each year!

It really is quite simple, and even though I enjoy the forums there really is no substitute for chatting and socialising with other keepers once in a while!

Is there like a Wigan & Leigh branch or would that be too local?

I am planning to join tomorrow when I get paid.

Hi,

is there currently a London (or close) branch? If not, what process would I need to go through to start one? I am already an IHS member and would be really keen to get more involved.

With there only being a few branches at present I think Halifax is most likely to be covered by the North West Branch although our East Lancs Branch is within a hours drive. We haven't setup our first meeting yet but it will be in the newsletter once we do.

Some of the branches (like ours) cover a MASSIVE area so for some people its difficult to get to any of the meetings. That is why we decided to form the East Lancs branch as we are all too far away to be covered by the North West Branch.
