Default 20 September 2020 show.

Most people wilth tables booked will now have received a IHS letter by now. Got to say the contents make grim reading and especially the stated social gatherings max 30 people allowed in the venue. Must cast serious doubts that the September show will go ahead. Not aware of any government plan to change that condition until October when they speculate the public might be allowed back into sports venues.

If that's the rules then that's the rules ! - TBH if that is the case then they need to make it ticket only and with hourly slots, as there will be no way to maintain control on a walk in pay on the door basis. But then even that would mean less than 300 people would be admitted over the day of the show, which would mean it runs at a loss, and would not be viable for many breeders to attend.

Personally I feel we should give up hope of seeing an IHS a show this side of Christmas where restrictions on social distancing are relaxed enough to make the show viable for the IHS, breeders and punters alike.

There is still 8 1/2 weeks until the September show to totally write it off. But needs the government to significantly up the numbers allowed at a social gathering which the powers that be seem to have deemed the show to be.

But the current guidelines mean it is likely to be October before such venues can open to the public, and then there are still the same social distancing and numbering rules if they open the toilets etc...

I think you (and possibly the IHS) are being rather optimistic or blindfolded if you think the show as we have come to know it will take place in September. And this is assuming the trials at several events work... if the government see any evidence that having 1000+ people watch a cricket match causes a risk in transmission of CV19 then there will be little chance of any event in an enclosed space happening this side of Christmas

The racecourse will probably let people in for a show when they can let spectators in to watch the racing which on the governments timetable is October. So pretty much agree with you unless we get some accelerated relaxation of the lockdown chance of September show is slim.

Perhaps its prudent to point out that the government have now stopped any further relaxation of restrictions. Given the current increase in infection rates, and the local locdowns across much of the Midlands and further north, I think k its safe to say that we can forget this event taking place this year.
Malc and greenman like this.

Yup unless there is a further relaxation seems to be heading to cancellation. I would imagine it is a no goer until the racecourse are permitted to allow their own race going punters onto the premises to throw their money away and watch races from the stands. Way it is looking if people want a show this year best lay out a table in your garage and promote it as an open day on the social media. if you are in a densely populated area probably generate a bit of interest.
