Default Leopard gecko humidity hide

Hi all, was wondering if my leo needs a humidity hide 24/7 or can I add it when he needs during his shed cycle like you do you a snake.

Also, how can you tell with a leo? Snakes normal go dull in colour and eye and become very inactive.

Thanks all

It should have a humid hide at all times. All reptiles should be given this opportunity at all times. Species that generally need high humidity like cave geckos and the like should be given a dry hide.
