Default New vivarium temperature check.

HI ,

I am setting up my new Vivarium for a bearded dragon and just wondered if someone could give me some feedback on these temperatures, its 4ft x 2 x 2

I am using an Arcadia 100w Basking Solar Flood basking bulb and that (and the UV light) is attached to a Microclimate Evo thermostat.

I have it setup as follows: (thermo probe is on back wall in line with bulb).

8am - 12pm - thermo set to 33c

Basking spot - 40c
Cool end under log - 26.6)
middle of viv - 32c

12pm to 3pm - thermo set to 37c
Basking spot - 49c
Cool end under log - 26.1
Middle 33.1

3pm to 8pm - thermo set back to 33c

lowest temp was at 4am last night - 19c

do these look ok?, is that 49c temp a bit high during the day maybe?

thanks.

Think I may need to bring the thermo temp down a tad during 12 to 3, as 49c would be too hot.

Hi, how are you measuring the basking surface temps plus the humidity range and what are those, can you put a few photos up of the whole enclosure?

Hi,

Im not measuring the humidity, my thermo only does temps.

I have a lucky reptile thermometer with the probe sitting on top of the rock under the lamp and moving the other one around to get other temps.

moving the 12-3 slot down to 35c gives me a high of 46.4c on the basking spot.

You cannot measure the surface temp of an object with the probe, it reads air temps, and you absolutely DO need to provide a suitable humidity range.

You also needa digital hygrometer for the humidity... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-I...8AAOSwTw5bjfDP
