Default just rescued this gecko from petshop

Hi everyone, well mw and my GF went over to a new reptile shop on Canvey, essex . They didnt have much, mostly beardies and gecko's, we had a look round a spotted this blazing blizzard and couldnt believe how under weight she was. The young lad came over and started chatting and said that she was very aggressive and wasnt eating. I asked if he could get her out to confirm her sex, so he procceeded to put on big gloves and clumsly try and grab her, she wasnt aggresive just very skittish. Anyway turns out she was a female, he had her up for £60 but offered her to me for £35 so i snapped his hand off. Ive now got her settled in and she has already started eating wax worms and mealies. I'll keep you all posted.

i actually woudlnt say that that was that thin, definatly not ''d couldnt believe how under weight she was'' too many people are used to seeing overweight geckos, which is as bad as it is with humans...being fat is bad too.

good luck with your new gecko. lay off the wax worms though.

I agree with freeky, it's not that bad.I had a 6 week old hatchling which escaped for a week, and it's tail wasn't far off that after I found it.

well ok maybe not overly under weight but compared to most healthy leo's she's not in great shape. The viv she was in had no calcium dish and no water and her only food was crickets that were bigger than her head.

she may not be super thin but i still think this is disgusting treatment from a reptile shop.

As already said doesnt really look that underweight, if you want to see underweight go to a certain pet shop in Armley and visit the geckos with matchstick tails

She is very beautiful. Although i wouldnt class her as thin just a tad under weight. She just look s like she needs some tlc and decent food. If you want thin you should see the two we got landed with both from same pet store that someone had bought. They had no money for vets so brough them to us. Sadley the vets could do nothing apart from put them to sleep. R.I.P Goku and Skittles....

This was Goku on day one:

Good luck with your girl she is a stunner
