Ive got the thermometer probe and the matt stat probe in my tank. but to measure to centre of the heat matt the wires have to come quite far into the tank leaving exposed wires.. Will my leo attempt to eat the wires? Or can i just measure the edge of the mat?
Hi
yeh, just measure the temp at one end of the mat. It should be the same temperature over its surface. You can double check the temp just to make sure though
gots a digi one. Going to a reptile shop on friday i think to pick up my leo. Gonna ring ahead. Also i have a laser gun type thing downstairs thinking of it!
Mm i have tiles though. Plus i need the reading above the substrate. Ah well its hidden behind a log! Ill get pics posted soon. OH broke my phone so wont be tillthe end of the week. Hopefully will be a leo in there two by then!
I have never known a Leo bite at the wires. I like to have mine in about the centre of the heatmat so usually I just put one of their heavier hides on top of the wires to stop them moving. You can get the general idea in the pic below.
Yeh mines like that going to pick my phone up soonish. So will get some pics posted.
