so in the future i will need a big viv for chaos, and was thinking about trying to be a little eco friendly.

by inserlating the viv some how to try stop the heat escaping through the wood or glass...

is there any thing that can be done to help this, also what about a shed could this be used as a big viv ?

we were looking at insulating ours in the future, an idea was to put polysteriene top and bottom of our stacks with a wooden plinth covering it, several layers of poly beetween layers of wood and we will have a 2-3" insulation job top n bottom :2thumb:

You could use radiator foil-you can get it in DIY shops-you would want the polysterene type with a foil front not the bubble wrap type (its rubbish). Glue it on the top of the viv on the inside, it will insulate and reflect the light down.Watch it near heat sources though.Could also fit it under the viv and behind it where you dont see it.
For a shed you can use polysterene slab -something like kingspan or celotex TP10 -this has foil both sides. 50mm would insulate well as long as you fitted a membrane to inside the shed first to draught proof before putting up the insulation.
