Default male and female chams

hi all
well we split the two up after her dominating him but since that the female has been pacing looking for him and he has been doing the same , so a few mins ago i put her in with him , he instantly went and grabbed her and got ontop holding her by her tail and front of her body obviously doing the duty , but how long do you leave them together for ?? how many times will he do this ??,
many thanks rob

hiya!
We've got a pair of chams and we've split them up a couple of times for dominating behaviour (from both).
Are they hissing at each other? Ours used to, but they get on fine now. We've had them for 6 months or so now. Are they chasing each other round they're enclosure?
Just keep your eyes open for signs of stress. Good luck!

we seperated them over a week ago as they were both rescued and both from different places the male is used to company but female is younger and not , they can see each other from their vivs and every so often the female turns bright green and walks the floor as if to get his attention then he does the same this has gone on for a week now so i put her in with him and he litterally jumped on her , he has got on her twice , but then after that she started to gape at him and wave her head to the side as if she was going to bite at him so i have taken her out and put her back in her viv now , she seems to try and get attention from him all the time but is different when in together will have to see what happens

your female will probably let your male know when shes finished and as long as the enclosure is big enough for her to avoid him you can leave them together but if not they will both get stressed and you will have to seperate them as for how long together a few hours will be fine.and you will have to provide the female with as much food and water as she requires and regular calcium and vits and also a suitable laying site for when the time comes.

your cham isnt pacing the flexy for his attention shes telling you she dont like the setup.ive used flexies for yemens and have found that alot of them will goto the bottom of the flexy pace and butt the flexy walls. and i also wouldnt have the two enclosures facing eachother so they can see one another this will also stress them.

if you move the vivs so they arent facing each other or see each other they should both calm down.
