    Hey there
Well I'm not really sure about the pros and cons of chinchilla sand, as I've never had a need to use/buy it. But I keep mine on regular desert sand. You can buy the more expensive ones from pet shops, but I just use expo bought sand which is much cheaper.
Just make sure that it's not the 'dusty' kind so it wont colour your animal. I had mine on 'red desert sand' for a while, and she always turned into a deep brown instead of remaning grey-ish.

Some people say that you should use mix substrate (sand/dirt mix) so they can dig better, but I've never had a problem with using just sand. And personally I think it looks nicer if its either just sand or just dirt.

Then there are those that believe that BAs are more tropical lizards, so they should be kept on woodchips to increase humidity, but I'd stick with sand/dirt like the majority who keep them.

    Hope this helps
Feel free to ask if you need anything else
