it is personal preferance when babies they can be slowly introduced to you with time and paience I am usuallf for rescuing the adults, however adults especially an aggresive one you have rehomed can be a lethal weapon if you dont know your stuff and would never reccomend an adulyt as a beginner... Tommie is a good lad.... If you do get a baby I have seen them settle down quite fast. but this is just based on my own expirience there are no facts there lol... at the end of the day the bebies in the pet shops need homes to although you will be lucky to have a proper reptile dealer just sell you one they need some proof of eclousure, most places anyways.
But good luck, it may be worth enquiring to see if there are baby rescues needed, check the rehoming classifieds I am sure I have seen a few there.
