Caudata.org is a very good axolotl site, it also has a classifieds section. You use the same dechlorinator for axolotls that you would use for a fish tank, letting water stand for 24 hrs would dechlorinate the water but not remove any heavy metals which amphibians are averse to (the dechlorinator does that aswell).
