yeah i own a few geckos (8 to be honest), am assuming you mean leopard geckos. Also have 2 crested geckos.
Leos can make a "barking" noise sometimes, usually when being picked up. otherwise they are exceptionally quiet. Males dont normally dig unless the viv is too cold and they are trying to get to the heat mat for more warmth. females sometimes dig when they are due to lay.
I suspect you are going to be putting the little fella on sand? personally i dont like it as it can cause impactation, especailly when they are younger when they are not so adept at striking at their food. Theres plenty of discussion threads on sand as a substrate in the forums just be careful as some of them can get quite heated.
Have you considered lino as a substrate? easy to clean, thin so it lets heat through well and you can get some stone effect which looks very realistic.
I suggest reading up on sleepyd's care sheet, its exceptional and she REALLY knows her stuff with leos.
