hi yes if you are going 2 use a heat mat i would put it under the water dish as it will help with the humidity but if i was you i would just use heat lights 4 a cwd as that will go 2 the top of the viv 2 get heat and go douw 2 cool down so i would bothe with the heat mat wat size viv you geting if it is very big i would use a ceramic and a heat light if it is smaller i would just use a heat light i put it in a warm room hope this helps

Excellent! Well they are probably going to be 1-1.75" when you purchase them so I would reccomend you keep the water level below 8"

    Good stuff =]
They will do well in a 2-4foot tank for a couple of years. Maybe three. But at about 3-4 years they are very nearly at adulthood so will need lots more space.

Well a tank 2-3 foot long x 1-2 foot wide is sufficiant for a small musk however when they reach adult size they will need a tank/pond around 5-7 foot long.

And about keeping females together. It will be impossible to tell their sex when they are smaller than 2-3 inches. (Around a year and a half old.) so you won't be able to sex them untill later on. I'm guessing you want two females so as not to have baby musks in the future? You may or may not of heard that male musks are prone to fighting as they mature. I'm rather lucky that mine are different sex (only recently found out as one has grown bigger than the other.) It's a bit of a gamble really but if you want two then you should get them when they're young but be prepared to seperate them if they fight.
