Mexican black over desert?Merrr don't be so cliche :P He will bite you if you smell of other snakes or rodents (Snakes because they're part of their natural diet, in the wild they eat young rattlesnakes). I know people say it's rubbish and I agree for the most part but with this species I do actually find they are better to handle if you feed outside of the viv. Although I don't bother because I'm not really scared of being bitten and I don't handle very often. If you go into the vivarium to clean it out they will tend to follow you about to see if your food. They have a BRILLIANT feeding response, I've had it where tails and legs have fallen off other snakes food and I've literally just fed the desert king a tail or a leg because he will strike it immediately and just eat a tail LOL... No problems feeding wise.
