Default Rescued Crocodile gecko

Crocodile gecko found on building site, dropped tail when someone caught it. It's in a Viv with paper towels, heat lamp, water dish, mealworms and has been given injection by vets to rehydrate.

It has at least 2 red mites between toes. Can someone advise when it would be ok to treat the gecko for mites? We're concerned about doing it when it's dropped its tail, unsure how long the wound will take to heal? Or is there a treatment that wouldn't interfere with the wound?

Thanks in advance.
