Advice wanted for aboreal vivarium
Hi, I am considering getting a lizard for an aboreal vivarium I just bought for a bargain price. It measures 21x16x36 so was looking for something that would enjoy the climbing space, any suggestions? It came with a fitted 14W UV bulb. I was wondering if this would be suitable for a lizard or I would need a new bulb? I think it was previously used for a snake. Also I wondered what kind of heating I would need for the viv as it is wooden which I hear can cause problems. I went to my local pet store for advice and was extremely put off to find that some of their lizards had died and just been left so thought you guys would be able to advise me much better. Also any suggestions for the set up would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, just so I'm clear.. is it suggestions on possible lizards that you are after? You're not interested in snakes?

Cresties are nice, in a viv that size you could have a male and a couple of females, or three females if you don't want eggs : victory:

They can live at room temps. so heating is easy, and as they are from a tropical island, you can have a very attractive viv.

This is my viv, it is 24"x12"x24";

These animals are easy to handle, and great to watch when they hunt, just don't get your finger in the way :whistling2:

Thanks for the suggestion! I am seriously considering getting some female crested geckos! Are they nocturnal? Do they need a UV bulb?

They are nocturnal, mine is up and about at around 6pm, although he was running around untill 11:45 this morning.

They want uv, I have a 5% reptisun with a reflector, this has a useful range of about 8", so in a viv of your size, if you have it at the top, and have good shelter in different places in the viv, then they can be as close or as far alway as they like : victory:

Cresties are great, or you could look at the days geckos, particularly the giant P.m.grandis. amazing little geckos and a pair would look great in your viv!

best thing is they are active all day!

The only thing about day geckos is that they aren't meant to be handled from what I've read which is unfortunate because I really wanted something I could handle.
