Question new and need advice

hi i have never kept a reptile before but am looking to do so. can anyone give me advice on a good beginers reptile and advice on how to keep it. i am sometimes away for a week or so a couple of times a year so i am guessing i should keep a snake?

if it only a couple times a year, would there b any1 there to look after it, a scorpion needs little attention, fed once a week, and wont mind being left alone

maybe but no guarantee are there any snakes that i would be able to keep

well corns are good starters, they don't need the humidity like others

That's a King Snake. (Specifically a California King.) There are many keepers of Kings here on the forum and lots of information. They also come in a wide variety of sub-species and are bred selectively to produce a range of colours (known as morphs).
