Default day gecko advise dartford

Hi all
I have kept a beardy before so not completely new to Lizards but have fallen in love with a giant Galapagos day gecko in the local shop ( Dartford )
by the time I get my act together it will probably be sold but .

Are they a good pet can they be handled and I am a little confused as to the viv , do I need a tall viv .

I need to buy a new viv but will an exo terra with a mesh lid damage the lizards feet ?

Have seen other names geckos vivid green and active are there other types I should be looking for .

Thanks for looking Dave the biker

From my experience all the day geckos make great pets, they come in different sizes and varieties, all stunning to look at. Although they get fairly tame, dont expect to handle them, more a 'display' species. Arboreal glass vivs are good for them, dont think the wire mesh would be a problem myself although someone else might be able to answer this better.

hey
just getting into day gecko's myself so been doing a lot of reading lol
they do want a tall viv as they are aboreal the mesh at the top wont be a problem for them as it is only when kept in a full mesh viv that their feet would get damaged they cant really be handled as they are more display animals hope that helps any more info wanted drop me a PM
also have you got the latin name of these as would be interested in knowing it?
