Default Tortoise

What do you do if your tort will not touch dandelion leaves ? Have tried leaving them there until they shrivel with nothing else to eat,still won't touch them.

Hi hun,

It just might not like them, it has been proved as well that dandelion leaves should only be fed 2-3 times a week they are good for them but not as originally thought, have to tried clover mine absolutely love clover specially the pink flowered on. there is a good list of weeds on the torty section of the forum. Have you tried giving torty the dandelion flower, rinse first though hun thoroughly. Avoid fruits like the plague.

What kind torty is it?

I also get the pre packed salads hun from asda they do a good one thats still in the soil for £1 its 3 different types of leaves they love it. You could maybe add a dandelion leaf in try fool it if ya mix it in with the other stuff also pre packed watercress and spinach from asda. I just give them a good leafy diet hun but no iceberg.

Clover yes,watercress yes chicory yes,costing me a fortune.She/he's a hermann just over a year old,thanks for that will try mixing a dandelion in with other stuff.

No spinach though! It's a brassica, with high oxalates to inhibit calcium uptake.
