Default Chinese tree dragon advice

Hi, I have a (japalura splendida) chinese tree dragon. Adult male. Have been told he should very active, and eating 6/8 crickets or meal worms a day. He is doing neither. All local reptile places don't seem to know much about him and give conflicting advice. Have been told to try feeding him pinkies/maggots, which i did try & he did eat! Then was told by someone else under no circumstances should i be feeding him live maggots!! HELP!!

You might want to re-post this in the lizard section as it gets more traffic. Not a species I know anything about so cant help.

Live maggots are ok to feed as a varied diet provided they arent dyed....although this is a wc lizard and it WILL need a full parasitological examination to make sure its free from parasites and any nasties that might be in its gut aswell
