Default advice needed

hi all, i new to rfuk, n relatively new to keeping my 2 bearded dragons
i was given the male about 8 mnth ago, owner had lost interest i think
i then went on to buy a female "buddy" to keep him company , i thought it better to live in pairs than seperate
anyway to cut a long story short my femal has had 2 lots of eggs in as little as 6-8wk, the 2nd lot only just over a wk ago and seems to be pregnant yet again
i dnt incubate the eggs as this isnt what i bought them for, but hav ben told that a female will die from the male keep hounding her, and a male and female are not advised to be kept together
is this true and will i eventualy lose the female?
it seems im still building her back up from the last lot eggs and she goes n lays another lot,
any advice welcome, thanks mandy

beardies / reptiles in general don't 'need' friends.

Keeping a male and female together is pretty much like being locked in a room with a bloke and 5 bottles of viagra.. He'll keep humping away at her whenever he can / whenever he feels like it.

You are best seperating them as constant breeding can be pretty bad for their health... if you are going to keep male and female together you're better with more than one female but you'll just end up with 2 lots of eggs that are going to be binned.

its true to my knowledge they shouldnt be housed together permeantly. how old are these guys and also i beleave if a female has been mated once they are sperm retainers and so are able to carry on laying fertile eggs for like a year after one mating session

i think my male is around 6 yrs n the female is around 13 mnth, i dont know enough about them to do anything with the eggs, n seen a few pairs for sale in a local pet shop so thought they like to be a pair
not got the room to seperate n keep so wil have to part with the female if it wil be bad for her health to keep long term together, why the guy who sold it me didnt say it not aloud long term ill never know as this was the 2nd female i purchased, (the first 1 strugglin to gain weight). thanks for your quick replys guys

im no expert on beardies but i would say that 13months is porberly too young but im not deifent! shame you were given wrong advice, as said before having a male and a female together permently is bad for her health and she will get stressed out! As meko said they dont need 'friends' bearded dragons do very well on their own without others, i believe you can only keep females together but it depends on the individual lizard!

Best of luck!

the reptile place i got the female from, i did point out when i bought her that i dint want to bread em n it was for company for my male, so i should of been stopped n my tracks then shouldnt i
to be honest its been nothing more than a pain since i got the "company" it was so much easier and less stress trying to sort em out befor i had the 2nd
looks like im ringing the plae to see where i go from here, maybe he wil giv me back my money and sell her back on,
